    How this typing test works

Choose a timed test or a word-count test, select a passage style, and type the text shown. The timer starts on your first keystroke. Pausing does not add to your active test time, and you can correct mistakes with Backspace.

    What your typing results mean

    Net WPM
Correct characters divided by five, then divided by active minutes. Five characters count as one standard word.
    Raw WPM
All inserted characters—including incorrect and extra characters—divided by five and by active minutes.
    Accuracy
Correct character insertions divided by all character insertions. Backspaces are not counted as keystrokes.

After a test, review errors and your saved progress history. Test history and preferences stay in this browser and are not uploaded. For another study tool, try the NEB GPA calculator for SEE and +2 or the internet speed test, or return to the portfolio homepage.
